About Mequon-Thiensville Cardinal Football
Mequon-Thiensville Cardinal Youth Football is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to promoting the game of football in the Mequon and Thiensville communities.
Our goal is to teach the fundamentals of the game in a positive, safe, and fun environment. Players will develop character, sportsmanship, work ethic, teamwork, and leadership that will serve them throughout their lives.
Eligible players must be residents of Mequon or Thiensville. There are only two exceptions. A player is eligible if he attends a school within the Mequon-Thiensville School District ("MTSD") boundaries and the community of residence does not have an AAYFL team OR if a player has been enrolled in a school within MTSD boundaries for two years prior to participation.
Cardinal Football has teams for 8th, 7th, 6th and 5th graders. All athletes play with their school grade level.
4th graders are eligible to play provided that:
- they meet the residency criteria
- the are at least 70 lbs at equipment handout
- they understand they will play future seasons with their school grade level (their next season would be a second on the 5th grade team when they are 5th graders in school)
- the Cardinal Board has determined that there is enough room on the 5th grade team for everyone to receive adequate playing time
Please check with Micah Adams (cardinalfootballmt@gmail.com) if you have any questions on whether your child qualifies to play for our organization.
