Board of Directors
Our board of directors is a group of volunteers who are passionate about the M-T Cardinal Youth Football Organization and its mission. Members work together to lead, manage and improve all functions of the organization.
Micah and his wife Renee have lived in Mequon since 2019. They have three children: Ava, Eli and Isla. Eli plays Cardinal and all three are students in MTSD.
Micah is the Social Studies Department Chair and Teacher at Homestead. Micah is a graduate of Arrowhead High School (2004) where he played football and ran track. He has a degree in Secondary Education and Broad Field Social Studies with a minor in Political Science from Wisconsin Lutheran College (2009) where he played football, served as team captain and was an all-conference selection.
Micah coached high school football for 16 years including at Homestead from 2016-2023 where he coordinated the special teams and coached defensive backs. He has also coached youth football camps for 20+ years including eight years at Homestead, and has coached flag football for the MTSD Recreation Department. Micah currently coaches the hurdles and sprinters for the Homestead boys' track team.
Micah is coaching in the Cardinal program as the head coach for Eli's grade level.
Pete and his wife Kristin have lived in Mequon since 2004. They have two children: Sal and Lola. Sal played Cardinal and is a Homestead graduate. Lola is also a student in MTSD.
Pete is a filmmaker, video producer, and creative director.
Pete is a graduate of Whitefish Bay Dominican High School and UW-Eau Claire. At UWEC, he was selected first team all-conference twice in football and was a pre-season All-American before his senior season. He signed as a free agent with the New York Jets in 1991. Pete was also a national champion and All-American in track and field for UW-Eau Claire and was elected to the UWEC Athletic Hall of Fame in 2007.
Pete coached Cardinal for 5 seasons while Sal was playing and has also coached high school and college football as well as youth softball.
Mark and his wife Jessica, who grew up in Mequon, have lived in Mequon since 2018. They have three children: Jacob, Sam and Will. All three are students in MTSD and will play Cardinal football.
Mark is an Underwriter at Acuity Insurance in Sheboygan. Mark is a graduate of Lakeland High School, Minocqua (2001) where he played football, hockey and baseball. He has a degree in Biology from Saint Norbert College (2005) where he played football.
Mark coached college football where he worked with the Offensive and Defensive Lines for the 2007-2012 football seasons. He coached at Minnesota State - Mankato, University of Redlands, University of Puget Sound and Lawrence University, where he was the Offensive Coordinator. Since moving to Mequon he has coached his sons in soccer, baseball, basketball and football.
Mark is coaching in the Cardinal program.
Tim grew up in Mequon and moved back to Thiensville after college with his late wife Sara. They have 2 boys, Isaac and Jordan, who both attend schools in MTSD and will play Cardinal Football.
Tim owns and operates a local HVAC & Plumbing company, Cliff Bergin & Associates, with his father.
He is a 2006 graduate of Homestead High School where he played football, basketball and baseball. He then attended the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater where he received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and played football from 2006-2010. He received a MBA in Management from Concordia University and also returned to school for a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from MSOE.
After graduating from UW-Whitewater, Tim coached with the Homestead High School Varsity football team from 2010-2014. Since then, he has coached for MTLL, Slammers & Flag Football as well as MT-Heat and Junior Highlanders Basketball. He is a board member of the Junior Highlanders Basketball program in addition to serving on the Cardinal board.
Mike grew up in Mequon and moved back after attending college. His wife Megan and he have three children, Ben, Hannah, and Madeline. Their kids attend Lumen Christi and plan to complete high school at Homestead. Ben plays for the Cardinals program and Mike is a coach for his grade level.
Mike graduated from Homestead High School in 2004 where he played football, basketball, and ran track. He attended the University of Iowa and received a bachelor’s degree in finance. He currently works for Regal Rexnord, a publicly traded manufacturing corporation, and leads the finance and accounting function of a multinational division. Mike has coached flag football prior to his time in the Cardinal organization.
Josh and his wife Jessica have lived in Mequon since 2005. They have three children: Cassidy, Brady and Hudson. Brady and Hudson played in the Cardinal program.
Josh works in the banking industry. He is a graduate of Homestead (1997) and earned a degree in finance from UW-Madison (2001).
Josh grew up in Thiensville and played for the Cardinals in the early '90s before playing at Homestead, and then walking on for the Badgers where he played for four years.
Josh started coaching Cardinal in 2019. He has also coached flag football and youth basketball. His father, Randy, coached in the Cardinal program for nearly 10 years in the '90s.
Tom and his wife Sheri lived in Mequon from 1998-2021 and now live in Cedarburg. They have three children: Zach, Ben and Katie. Zach and Ben both played Cardinal and all three graduated from Homestead.
Tom is a high yield bond portfolio manager at National Investment Services. Tom is a graduate of Kohler High School (1985), and has degrees from the University of Michigan (BBA 1989) and Northwestern University (MBA 1992).
Tom coached in the Cardinal program for fourteen years including the eight years that his sons played. In 2021, he joined the Homestead football staff. He has also coached youth baseball, softball and wrestling for many years and served as TMYBA President for eight years.
Tom is also a past president of the Mequon-Thiensville Education Foundation.
Drake is the Homestead Football Head Coach and the Math Specialist at Homestead. Drake and his wife Jen, current department chair and teacher in the Homestead math department, have lived in Mequon since 2010. Their children, Lee and Paige, are students in MTSD and their daughter Grace graduated from Homestead in 2025. Lee played in the Cardinal program.
Drake started coaching football at Homestead in 1998. He was the head coach for Messmer-Shorewood from 2011-2014 before returning to Homestead in 2015.
Drake is a Waterford High School graduate (1992) where he played varsity football, basketball and baseball. He has a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics (1996) with Minors in Business Administration and Secondary Education (1998) from Carroll University. He also has a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from National Louis University (2006).
Drake has also coached basketball, softball, baseball and golf at the high school level.
